A couple of weeks ago, Scott & Jason planned a trip back east to watch the Steelers in a play off game in Pittsburg. My step-sisters husband Travis has been playing on the Steelers as a defensive end for six years. When the unexpected death, of a family friend took place, Scott felt he really needed to be here to attend the funeral. So.... low & behold, our lucky little Austin had the priviledge of going with his Uncle Jason back East to attend a playoff game and go to D.C! He wasn't too bummed about this, that is for sure. They had a great time making memories and touring Washington together. I am sure this will be a trip they will both remember forever. What a great experience!

When Austin was packing for this trip, I advised him to pack his ski jacket, some wool sweat shirts, gloves & a couple of beanies for his head. He looked @ me & said "I won't need any of that, I don't ever get cold, a sweat shirt will be fine!" I said, "Okay... Arizona boy you know more than me, so have fun in that - 10 degree weather!" (This is when the love & logic parent prays for her 14 year old son to freeze his little bootie off!!!!) Luckily they got to sit in the box!

After the game Jason & Austin got to go in the Steelers locker room. They shook hands & rubbed shoulders with a lot of the Steelers players!

I can't believe how lucky Austin was to go on such an amazing trip! No wonder your kids were so torn about the superbowl. What a great game tonight was!!! (Except the last minute!!)
I can't believe you've been to the Azores! We need to talk! Russ wants us to go visit in a year and half. Maybe my parents will be working with some of Scott's family's records. I'll tell them to keep their eyes peeled for Simases!!!! So cool!!!!!
