My goal

My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am
author unknown

We have all come to the conclusion, that I am Piper's favorite! She follows me wherever I go and loves to be in my lap. She is pretty much obsessed! I can see why people say, a dog is a man's best friend... They never betray you, they never talk back to you and they are always so forgiving!

And it feels good to know that somebody likes me that much...

We sure love our cute Piper!

gimpy

So this morning, Piper and I went to the vet and had her leg x - rayed. Sure enough.... it is broken!

The vet gave me my three options...
  • {option 1} Take her to a specialist and have surgery. This would involve a pin or wire through the bones, to put them back together and her leg would be perfect again. This will cost us around $2,000.00..... oUcH!
  • {option 2} Do nothing and let it heal on its own. Take the risk of her having a gimp forever and walking like she is handicap?!
  • {option 3} Just hope that it heals and no one will ever know that she broke her leg and her lame owners didn't fix it!
We decided we will take option 3. I know.... we are lame pet owners! I am going to have to take the chance that she will heal and be okay. She is a cute three legged piper and doing okay for now. I hope we made the right decision?

broken leg??

I am off to the vet this morning.... I think Piper might have broke her leg! She was on our bed last night and she blends in with my mink comforter. Needless to say, I think I accidently kicked her off when I went to got into bed. So, pretty high fall for our little pipsqueak! I am praying we don't have a broken leg!

Cooper and Piper chillin in our bedroom yesterday afternoon!

She looks so sad today!

puppy love

Have I mentioned lately, how much joy our new addition has brought to our family?! We are still adoring her to death and squeezing lots of love into her everyday. She really is the sweetest dog and has such a cute personality. I didn't know a dog could be so lovable.

I am pretty sure Sophie thinks Piper is a real live stuffed animal and I can't believe that Piper actually puts up with the.... in and out of the carry bag ~ the in and out of the kennel ~ the in and out of the bike rides in her basket ~ you name it... she is in and out of every position you can imagine.

And, she still loves Soph.

Sophie has her ready to go bye ~ bye

Since we have never owned a dog or really had a pet besides a couple of hamsters, this is a new experience for our family. Scott and I were both quite apprehensive about taking the plunge and trying this out. It has been fun to watch each kid interact with her and see who really cares about her needs, even when the newness of it all wears off. So far, it seems like everyone still equally adores her and she is still the main hit in our house.

I think Piper has completed Cannon's world

He is so sweet with her

Even Cooper is loving her to pieces

Our niece Ava comes over now to hold Piper, Sophie has taken the back seat in her world.

During Christmas break, Sophie was the one who got up with me to take Piper out to go potty. She was a little trooper, it was cold outside!

The one who has shocked me the most....

is my husband.

I was finally able to capture a picture of him tonight. He snuggles with this dog like he does with our kids! I had no idea Scott would be this attached to an animal.

She pretty much melts our hearts, hopefully I will still feel the same way in a year?!
