Fathers Day

As far as I am concerned....
I have the best dad in the world! I love my dad and I know that he loves me that much more. I am grateful for the example that he continually sets for me. One of my favorite things about him, is his ability to teach and gently persuade. I love that anytime there is a teaching moment for my kids, or anyone in our family, he takes advantage of those tender moments. The most valuable lesson he has ever taught me, is to always put my trust in the Lord and pray to him daily. He is so wise and faithful and the rock of our family.

October 2007 in front carthage jail:

Almost 17 years ago:

And of course, the father of my children....
What a devoted father Scott is to our kids. He is hands on and always present to their needs. Each of our kids would say, that they KNOW their father loves them with all his heart. I am grateful for the time and service he puts in their behalf and thankful to know that he would do anything for each of our kids. I love him and am so glad that he is who my other half is for eternity.

Taylor wanted to put something together for her dad for Fathers Day, so I helped her make this 16x20 canvas, on photoshop. Her and Sophie came up with all the different words that describe their dad. I loved that they know him so well.

He loved his gift from the girls and will probably hang it in our bedroom.

I am so thankful for the awesome men in our life!

this is so us....

Taylor was taking some pictures of Scott and I the other day and it looks like she caught us

in action....

who knows what this conversation was all about?!?

But anyone that knows us, knows that this is so us.

Thankfully, it looks like we got over it quickly and moved onto something more important

I hope my kids remember me doing more of this with their dad, than the picture above!

I really do LOVE him and I hope they know that!

Sunday

Today is Sunday.

We have 8 a.m. church.

When I got home from church today, I went outside and found Sophie and Scott laying together on our hammock.

It was sweet.

I want to remember that this particular Sunday, was peaceful and pleasant.

Sophie and Cannon are playing a game together on the living room floor. Scott and Cooper are in the basement laying on the couches, watching some golf. Taylor is watching family videos in the family room. Austin is in the garage looking for jumper cables and I am sharing my office chair with Piper and for some reason I am sitting on the very edge as she is completely sprawled out behind me, taking up the whole chair. How does that work?! She's a dog....

I love Sunday's, especially when they are like this.

Life is good.

I love my family

"Over the Hill"

"Happy Birthday Scott"

I want to wish Scott a Happy Birthday today... its the "BIG 40!"
One of the things that I will not ever have to worry about with him is that, he will probably always stay young at heart, no matter how old he is. Scott is always looking for a good time and somebody to joke around with. I am sure I will probably really appreciate this quality when we are old hags and have nothing else to laugh at. Scott has many great quality's and I appreciate all that he does for our family. He is a great husband and father and each of our kids adore him to death! I am thankful for the many sacrifices he makes for our family. Sometimes I wonder how he keeps it all going - between work, family, church callings, kids events & just every day responsibilities. It simply amazes me. He is a great example of someone who will give his shirt off his back. He is always the first to offer help to others who are in need. I could give countless stories about him taking time out for others. I am proud of who I married and am thankful for all he does.
I love you

In my eyes he does not look
"40"

We love you Scott & Happy 40 th Birthday!

15 Years and Counting

 Mr. and Mrs. Scott Simas

Today is our anniversary and today is the day I became Mrs. Simas, forever!  Fifteen years goes by so fast. When I look at our five kids and I think of all we've done and how long it has been since we took this picture above, I begin to realize how long it really has been.
Fifteen years ago today we were sitting in the Mesa, Arizona Temple... waiting to get married.  I will not bore everyone with the many details from that day, but one thing I will say is that it was absolutely PERFECT!  I did not want this day to ever end.  Even though it was a miserably HOT day, I did not care.  I am sure everyone else did, but I did not.  All that was important to me was that I was with the person I had chosen to spend eternity with.  I guess that is all that should matter to a new bride, right?
I am grateful to my best friend, husband and cheerleader - for helping me become the best that I can be. I could not have been more blessed than to have you as my partner. Thanks babe for loving me. Especially on my... not so good days!
Happy 15th Anniversary
I Love You!
    XOXO

❤ Sweet Husband

I was gone most of the day today and when I came home my sweet husband had left these beautiful flowers for me.  Last night I was laying in bed complaining and venting about things that had happened through out my day.  Of course the things that I was complaining about were totally petty and actually quite selfish.  When I woke up this morning I was feeling really dumb about the things I had murmured about before I fell asleep.  I am so grateful to have such a thoughtful husband, one who would take time out of his day just to cheer me up!  I know that these thoughtful little gestures are what keep our love growing.  I appreciate the efforts he continually  makes in showing his love and concern for me.  Now I need to do better.

I love you!

Shaving with Dad

I know that I am going to probably get reamed by my husband if he ever finds out that I put these pictures on our blog, but oh well... I couldn't resist! This afternoon I walked into this picture just how you see it. Sophie was totally mesmerized watching the razor clean the hair off of Scott's face (and there was ALOT of it). This is not the first time I have walked in on this same exact picture. She often asks her dad if he will be shaving after his shower and if the answer is "yes", then she wants the front row seat and the closer the better. After I took this picture I was remembering back to when I would sit up on the counter top and watch my dad shave - I totally forgot that I loved it and this triggered my memory. I know that if I didn't get it on camera or write it down, I would definitely forget! There is just something so cute about little girls and their dad's!

# 1 DAD!

Taylor was so sweet to make this cute tie for her dad on Father's day! Never in a million years did I think he would actually wear it to church. Scott goes to meetings at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, he comes home and gets Austin (and whoever else is ready @ 7:45 a.m.) so I didn't pay much attention to him when he ran in and ran out of the house with kids. When I walked in to sacrament and sat down on our bench, I was stunned to see him wearing this hand made tie around his neck. You can't really tell, but it is puffy painted, # 1 DAD, with her lips all over it -what a sport!
Cannon made his dad this adorable calender @ school and he has been patiently, waiting for this day to come to give it to him
Thank goodness for daughters - I did not have to do much pampering for Scott to make his day special. Taylor took him his favorite snacks to his bed and it was so cute, they all sat and stared at him while he ate it.
She had all the kids making him "I LOVE YOU" cards, it was just so nice, not to be the one doing it ALL! Not that I wouldn't or that I didn't want to, but that it is important enough for them to make it special for their dad!
He loved every minute of it!

Happy Father's Day

I did not want to let this day go by without letting the father of my children know how much I love and appreciate all he does for our family. Our children have always been and continue to be the number ONE priority in his life! Each one of my kids has a very special place in their heart for their DAD and they love him sooo much! I am grateful for his continued efforts in trying to work on each child's relationship, in making sure they individually know his love for them. It has always been important to Scott, that each child has "one on one" time with him and they always look forward to this. Scott is such a great example to me and to our children, with his CHRIST like service he gives to those who are suffering or in need, he has a sensitive heart and would give his shirt off his back, if needed! Happy Father's Day, sweetie ~ We love You!
We LOVE you - Daddy

I also need to let my own dad know how much I LOVE and appreciate him, he is a great example to me and I admire him so much. As a little girl, I always looked up to my dad and knew that he loved me unconditionally and I still feel that way today. When I think back at the lowest times in my life, my dad has always been the first person I call, besides my own husband! I know that I will always get the best advice from him and he will always help me to see things clearer and I usually, always end up viewing my problem a totally different way. Most of the time when I call him, crying the blues, the first question he asks me is... "have you been on your knees asking for help, yet"? I am grateful for a father who has been diligent in living the gospel and has taught me to always turn to my Heavenly Father for guidance and strength. I don't know where my life would be today if I did not have the example that my dad has set for me, I love you - DAD!
Sacred Grove 2007
I can't go with out honoring my father in law, Grandpa Jack! He has been so good to Scott and I, we are so grateful to him for the many things he has helped us with and for his great example. Scott's parents live in Northern California, so we always look forward to their fun visits. I can not tell of a time where Jack has stayed at my home and not left me, with out some type of project being finished by him. He seems to always find something that needs to be fixed around my house, the last time he came, he finished 4 different undone projects in one weekend. He is great, I hope Scott still has that kind of energy when he is 72! Each of these men have blessed my life in so many different ways and I am especially thankful for the examples they set for each of my children.
Happy Father's Day to all you DAD'S out there!
