Our baby is 8 today

Today our baby turned 8 years old!  

I have mixed emotions about how quickly my kids are growing up on me... I'm not sure I am liking this process too much!  I know it's all part of the plan to progress and grow but, sometimes I just wish I could freeze time and things could slow down just a little!

Here are a few insignificant things that I want to document about Sophie at this stage of her life: 

• She is smart!  Sometimes, too smart for her own good!
• She is a hugger..  Anytime she greets a family member or one of my friends, she almost always reaches out and hugs them!
• She is always on the move and making plans with someone. 
• She loves to ride up to walgreens and purchase artificial nails with her allowance.
• She loves to read the stories from the friend magazine!
• She sings, hums and talks non stop!!
• She is computer savvy and loves to update her blog, text on my phone and send out emails.
• She loves to have her picture taken and is a natural at posing for me.
• She has become a pretty good little dancer and loves to perform for others.
• She lays her clothes out at night and really cares about style and her appearance.  She wants clothes for her b-day!
• She would straighten her hair every day if I would allow her.  We have an agreement that she can straighten it 3 times a week, to avoid her hair from being fried.
• She has been working on her back hand spring and ariel with her big sister Taylor and is getting quite close.
• She is the best, (next to Taylor) on loading and unloading the dishwasher.  I like the weeks she is on dishes, she takes pride in her jobs and gets them done.
• She is beyond thrilled to be 8 and can't wait for June 11th to come, so she can be baptized!
• She loves to ride her bike with Taylor up to Tia Rosas and Rock-n-Robyn!
• She has a love for music and loves to sing and record herself on our computer.
• She is thoughtful and loves to write notes to people she loves.
• She is mature and wise beyond her years!

These definitely are treasures to find on your computer... I think this one is pretty cute.  My favorite is when she keeps checking behind her to see if anyone is coming!  Precious.
