7 years and counting..........
This trip has become a great tradition! We meet my bro-in-law (who drives over from Albequerque NM) at the Black River. The kids start talking about this trip when school gets out in May. Two of the seven years we have gone somewhere other than the West Fork of The Black River and the rats were not happy about it. This year I suggested Lake Powell and I was promptly reminded how our campground at the Black River is this, and it's that, and its a tradition. So, here we are again! My nephew Christian joined us this year all the way from Sac town. It was great to have him. We rode motorcycles, fished, read, relaxed, and of course ate great food! I have another tradition when I go camping. I do not make the kids wash their faces the entire time we are gone. I love to see how dirty they can get. Tracey loves that part of the trip. I have already been receiving tips on how we can make next years trip even better!

The girls seemed to stay pretty clean, thank goodness.

and it looks like Sophie did a lot of journaling and some pretend talking on the phone?

I can't even handle looking at how filthy they get.
UGH!

One thing they didn't miss out on is good food!
Scott hooks it up!
I think they eat better when they are camping, then when they are home.

Uncle Ty

I guess he was driving my car??
Scary!

I was nervous about sending my good camera with them so I asked Scott to please make sure and take pictures with Taylor's camera. It looked like Taylor was pretty much in charge of the camera. She did a good job for a 13 year old. There were some pretty crazy shots I got rid of, but all in all she did well. She made the comment when she came home that her brothers and cousins were completely annoyed by her and how camera happy she was.
I wonder where she gets that from??
I had a wonderful weekend as well, here all by my lonesome self. It was beautiful and I look forward to it every year.
P.S. I really don't like when he calls our kids "RATS".... but, I have learned to pick my battles and this is one I have let go.

Love all the pictures! Good job Tay. She must have got that trait from you! It's so fun to have you hang out with us when you are all alone all weekend. We love it! Looks like the kids and Scott had a blast!
Cute pictures Taylor! You've got talent in your genes! Tracey- I was giving my Constitution Week presentation on Tues. as Abigail Adams and right as I start talking some cute little blond kid makes a sassy little comment. The second i looked at him I knew he was yours! I was like, are you a Simas? You must be Cooper! He is so stinking cute! Of course he did a report on John Adams so knew the answers to all my questions. I told him that I was friends with his mom and had known her since before he was born. Hope he told you hi for me. Your family is as darling in real life as they are on your blog!
Love ya!
