As much as I need structure & order in my life, it sometimes feels good to just hang out, eat otter pops, let your house be GRAND CENTRAL STATION, allow your kids bath...to be their dip in the pool for the day, be o.k. that your 5 & 7 yr old are up @ 11:00 p.m. & sleep til 9:00 the next morning, let your 12 yr old daughter shower (in the outside pool shower) with all of her friends and then realize she is sharing your expensive shampoo with each one of them, so they can get primped @ YOUR house & then decide, an hour later.... they want to SWIM AGAIN! Yiiiikes, I am sad to say... that one didn't go over very well with me but, I do love everyone of these girls. I was doing pretty good with this life style the first few weeks of summer but unfortunately, it didn't last very long & I had to pull back the reins! I soon realized, I can not live my life without structure & neither can my kids. As embarrassing as this is to say, I actually kind of freaked out a little, but.... I repented & we set some new summer rules with each child, as far as what is acceptable & what isn't. So, life is good & I am feeling much better with a little bit more structure. We are back to piano practicing, their daily jobs & each child is required to read 100 pages a week, or more. With of course, the option to drag this out all day or cut to the chase & get it done, so they can have their freedom to have computer time, wii time, t.v. time & of course friend time! They usually pick the FRIEND time... which I love. Who wouldn't want these darling friends @ their house? There are no pictures of Taylor & her friends but, I do love them & they are welcome in our home any time!

they usually end up here

Then when you come inside...... you find these guys raiding your kitchen & your thankful for costco :)

Between the trek, EFY & a trip to Yellowstone, with his dad & brothers, we have not seen much of Austin. I really missed him being away & I won't say this to loud... but I actually sorta missed seeing his friends around too.

I feel like I am missing my right arm at times when Austin is not around, he is such a great help & not to mention he is my "fix it guy", he fixes computers, blows up new pool toys, takes care of our pool, by testing the pool water & telling us what to buy so the water doesn't go green, babysits, sets up my DVR, helps his brothers fix their air soft guns when they break, teaches me (for the 100th time) how to set my remote so I can watch a DVD in my bedroom (asking me each time... "k, are you watching this time so I don't have to come up here again & set this up"?), throws the football to Cannon, fixes bikes & scooters & changes batteries when needed! He is basically, my Scott the 2nd & I am so glad he is home!

I am pretty sure that if I lived closer I would be at your house swimming, showering, eating your otterpops and using your expensive shampoo! You can't blame anyone, look how stinking cool your backyard is! Totally your own fault! ;)
wow, tracey all your kids have grown up so much! austins' in highschool? that's crazy! your house is beautiful! if i lived closer to you, i'd be at your home too. :) i can understand about the expensive shampoo too.
Austin sounds like such a good kid! You are a lucky mom! Cute pictures.
Your such a good sport having all those kids over every day raiding everything. Can't blame them... you always have your house stocked with yummy food! Ava just loves the chaos over there, thats why she cries every time I pick her up. My kids go to bed every night around 11 even during the school year! Maybe that explains why we aren't very happy in the morning!!!!!
Oh it looks like so much fun! I can not even tell you how much I miss the "chaos" that used to be at my house. There is nothing like a good neighborhood with good kids for your kids to play with!
I hear you on summer structure. I lasted about a week and then I started going crazy. I wasn't getting anything accomplished, forgetting stuff, and feeling like I had no order. I don't function for very long with no structure.
It was fun to see some pics of your kitchen. I love the colors !
I am right there with ya! I hate to feel out of control and summer does it to ya! P.s. you did not have to give me that card! You are too sweet to even think of it, but really I would do that for you anytime and I hope you know that! and I do want to be on your private list emwebb1979@hotmail.com
