Besides Christmas, this is my next favorite holiday to decorate for. I love this time of year. It's finally cooling off and the kids are back outside playing with all the neighbor kids. My favorite is opening all the windows and feeling that fresh air. Although we haven't been able to do that these last couple of days, due to the stinky cow poop all over our lawn! The grass can't come in soon enough.
So here we have some of our Halloween decor...

I think I have a thing for witches, I have quite a few.
Should that tell me something!?

These little signs are hanging from the kitchen chandelier

This is G l E n D a the G o O d witch...
Sophie named her a few years ago and it has sorta stuck thru the years.
The little kids love her
I love my candy jars but have had a hard time keeping little paws out of them. I gave up on filling them with candy about a year ago. I have had to replace 2 of them so far... UGH! We haven't had much luck in keeping the little ones off the counter and their tummies from being sick and full. So Scott and I agreed that they would no longer be filled with the yummy temptations.
A couple of months ago my friend shared her brilliant idea with me. She told me to spray all the candy with HAIRSPRAY in front of the kids. Obviously so they will have no desire to consume any of it and it completely becomes a decoration. So we did. To say the least, I was not my kids biggest fan that day. They were quite bummed. It is so funny to hear them explain to all the friends who come thru, "the candy is off limits... don't eat it... my mom hair sprayed it all!" I am sure all the neighbor kids think the Simas' mom is C r A z Y! I am just waiting for the day when an adult comes over and I am not home, and they take a big ole' handful!
That would be just my luck.

Now it's time to make our final decisions, as far as Sophie and Cannon's costumes. They are having a hard time trying to decide what they want to be this year.
Their minds change daily.

Great idea about the hairspray! We've already gone through a big bag of the halloween colored peanut M & M's. I replaced them with candy corns because not as many people like those but I'm going to spray them, too!
hairspray, what a smart idea. i like decorating for halloween too.
cute decorations and good idea with the hairspray. I have 2 jars and it dissapears quick and yes, they have broken the lid onone and I had to replace it too. I think I will try the hairspray trick! I love the pumpkins atthe end..where did you find those cute things? And Glenda..wow she is huge. Where do you store her every year? Happy Halloween. We are thinking of doing Halloween down there this year.
