I can't believe how fast the summer came and went, every year it keeps getting shorter and shorter. Why do we have to go back to school so early in this state? We live in Arizona... heaven for bid, at least let us be gone in the most miserable month of the whole year. When I think about the poor teachers and students at recess, it just doesn't make any sense.
However, the 1st day of school went great for each of our kids! This year my stomach was in knots, with a new FRESHMAN @ the high school and a new little 7TH GRADER @ the junior high! Austin of course didn't show an ounce of emotion either way, I guess it's a guy thing. He had a great day and seemed to be in good spirits when I picked him up from football. I have learned to just let him talk when he is ready or in the right mood. I don't get too much information if I ask too many detailed questions. I don't know if it's the age or the gender but, this is the only picture he would let me take and he was irritated about it. He supposably was going to be LATE!

She was up 3 different times in the night. Of course, she went to her dad's side of the bed and he was nice enough to get up and go lay in her bed till she fell back asleep. She knows I won't budge! She woke up @ 5:45 a.m. and touched up those curls and primped herself all up! I promise we won't have alarms going off @ 5:45 a.m. again the rest of the year! Typically, she is our hardest to get out of bed.

Cooper is starting 5th grade w/ Mrs. Hessler @ Highland Park.
He was even a little bugged to have his picture taken - he thought he needed to be to the school 30 minutes before it started. He was SOOO excited to see his friends! He comes in 2nd, next to Taylor for being the social butterfly!
A tad bit of bad news for the Coopster - after 3 warnings, he had his chair taken AWAY for leaning back in it. So, his knees got to know the carpet really well for the rest of the afternoon. I asked him if he was embarrassed or felt bad that this had happened. His reply, " NO, I just knelt the rest of the day it was no biggy!" What do you say to that and where did this child come from? I would have DIED if that happened to me! Taylor had Mrs. Hessler when she was in 5th grade - he will learn, she doesn't put up with ANY smack!!

He had a better day then he thought he was going to have.
He didn't think any teacher would be as nice as his 1st grade teacher.
He was wrong - thank goodness!
Little Miss Sophie is our half day kindergartner! She talked and talked all afternoon about how wonderful her 1st day was! She was pretty bummed when she realized she wasn't eating lunch with her brothers and she was spending the morning with mom! I figured I only have one year left and I will never be able to spend this time with her again. I am cherishing this year with her! Can you tell she likes her picture taken also?

Tracey, I just went through your latest blogs and I have to agree that 35 is a great age! I didn't know it at the time, but looking back, I have to agree with your mother! Happy belated Birthday! Looks like you had a successful "first day of school"!

Ok you have the CUTEST kids...are you kidding me?? So adorable!! I can't believe summer is over. Time is flying by WAY to fast! I hope you guys aren't baking in the heat!!!
They all look so adorable as always! What's up with Austin looking like a man? Weird. Time is passing by way too fast. I'm glad they all loved school. Of course they do... the are Simas' and social butterflies!
your kids are growing up so fast. they looked so cute on their 1st day..love how you described each one-i can picture them all getting ready and showing up. so funny that cooper was all "no- biggy" when he got in trouble.

Ok seriously could you have cuter kids? I love that Taylor was up at 5:45. Too funny! Sophie is so cute. I saw her at dance the other day and she told me about school, your new car, Kali at the hospital... seriously I was cracking up! She is hilarious!
haahah austin is so cute, he looks so grown up, its crazy!! he called me during lunch on his first day and told me he has the same math teacher i had freshman year!!! weird huh?!?!?tay&soph look adorable of course, love the bag tay. coop the little rebel, he is hilarious i love hearing the stories and cannon looks adorable!i can't believe school already started for you guys, i move in exactly two and a half weeks!!!!!!
