Last Saturday morning, Austin finished his Eagle Project in our garage. We started bright and early and were grateful that he was organized and knew what he wanted to accomplish. He ordered all the supplies for 150 humanitarian kits and we helped put them all together. We had an assembly line of people putting the items into bags and it all went very smooth.

We were so thankful to have Grandma and Grandpa Simas here to help. They drove all the way from Northern California to be here and support Austin.

For some reason... Austin did not think it was necessary to announce that he needed any help from our ward or the young men. He figured he had his family and a few extended family members and that would be enough.

Thankfully his cousins came with Grandma and Grandpa Simas and a few boys from our ward heard about his project and showed up bright and early!
Austin has never been the type to ask for favors from other people. I tried to explain to him that it's good to give others a chance to serve. And besides, most of the youth could use the service hours.
Luckily, it all worked out and we had the perfect amount of people.

Even sleeping beauty rolled out of her bed and came out to help her brother

It always amazes me how much can get done in such a short time, when you have a team of people helping.

We are so grateful for amazing family and good friends who are always so willing to give, when there is a need.

Thank you to all of those who wrote checks and gave money to help support Austin with his Eagle Project.
You know who you are!

Cannon didn't want Piper to feel left out, so he thought she might like watching from the trash can sidelines.
Of course I couldn't resist taking a picture

Thanks to Scott, everyone who helped was rewarded with warm krispy kreme donuts. What a great way to start the day!

And the best thing of all....
is that Austin is one step closer to becoming an
Eagle Scout!
happy day
