summer review

Here is a little of what we have been up to so far this summer:

  • Every morning with out complaint, our little kids do their 45 minutes of reading. They have rocked in this area! The big kids on the other hand, I don't even put out a request for it. I am still learning to choose my battles.
I couldn't resist capturing their cute little faces

  • Austin has been super busy with summer school. So, on his days off, he has been working for his Grandpa McCleve out at the pecans and trying to save as much money as he can this summer.
He sure loves getting around the subdivision on his Grandpa's tractors. The idea of him with a license is getting more and more appealing for me. Driving him out to Queen Creek is not so fun!
  • Sophie and Ava had their end of the year dance recital. It sure was a long 2 days for me, but they did a great job.

Some of my favorite dances were the 2 and 3 year olds... they were hilarious when they got on stage. Elsie was a hoot and loved being up there. She stole the show when she fell off her stool in the middle of the dance! We laughed our heads off!

  • relaxing by the pool and enjoying the evening weather
  • loving on our cute Piper... she is still a celebrity in our home
  • Spending 5 days with Grandpa & Grandma Simas was awesome... we already miss them!
  • Helping Cannon fill & tie as many water balloons as we possibly could for cub scout camp

My finger tips hurt for 2 days after that

  • We have managed to squeeze in some afternoon lake trips
  • Cannon had a great time w/ a bunch of his buddies at this Ty Detmer football camp.

  • and we have been swimming EVERY day ~ I am surprised nobody has complained of swimmers ear yet!

Love how you are capturing your summer! ;) Would love to hear more about how you handle it all when school starts. From chores, to homework, to trying to fit in different activities. I only have three kids... lol. I've been a mom for almost 15 years - but this stage is leaving me speechless. I love reading your blog because it does give me so many great ideas and you really seem to have it all together! Now, if someone can just tell me when it's okay to let my daughter start shaving, I would be much better off! :D
