Last night was the Stake Youth Dance and the theme was.... NeRdS! So, Taylor and Brooke got together and came up with what they think nerds look like! HA. I told them, they didn't look like anything close to a nerd... maybe more like a cute nerd?! But not a nerd!
I was trying to get them to even act like nerds.... and they couldn't!
Of course, little sister had to get in on the action and couldn't be forgotten. She ruined half of their pictures by trying to jump in and be apart of it all. When I finally invited her to be in a picture, she quit jumping in and making herself known. Lesson learned for me. I guess it just takes me awhile. She's a piece of work!
Unfortunately, when we went to pick up some of their friends, there were a few girls who were not 14 quite yet and couldn't go.... soooo, Taylor and Brooke were talked out of going to the dance and convinced that something else would be more fun. ugh. teenagers. What can I say? You can't convince them otherwise and I am slowly learning how to pick my battles. As much as I would have preferred them to go and mingle at the Stake Dance {instead of hanging out at a friends house} it wasn't worth the argument. I figured, at least I got some cute pictures of these so called.... NERDS!

i remember my first stake dance days when lacey would drive me! haha
Way too cute for nerds! Hey, quick question for you, what kind of camera do you use? At Aspen it I noticed that all of you were great at photography so I am just curious how you got started. I just got a good camera and want to figure it out but it is so overwhelming. Where did you start?
Thanks Tracy xo
Hi Gale ~ I use the Canon EOS 20d. I have had it for 5 years and finally decided to learn how to use it to its fullest potential in the last year. I have gone to a few photography classes and also have been given several tips from friends. I think the best way to learn it, is to learn the basics and then take a "picture a day." Practice. Practice. Practice.... And you have some cute subjects to practice on. If you are looking for a new camera, check out the Canon 5D. That is what is on my wish list! Good luck with Eve. I can't wait to hear how the trip goes.
xoxo
Thanks so much Tracey, I think I may invest in a basic photography class to begin and then go from there! Your pictures look great!
