Gila Valley Arizona Temple

This morning we took our own "family field trip" to the open house of the Gila Valley Arizona Temple...

Unfortunately, Austin and Taylor were unable to join us, due to other commitments at school. Which was a total bummer!

We got up like a normal school day and met my mom, Tiff, Emmie and Ava and were on the rode by 8:30 a.m. The drive wasn't to bad, it only took us about 2 1/2 hours. It was well worth it. My hope in taking my kids to tour this Temple, is that they will remember the feeling they had there today, forever. Not only was it beautiful, but the feeling you felt when walking through the doors was so peaceful and I know that each of our kids felt it. They were mesmerized by the all the beautiful chandeliers, the marbled trim and amazing paintings. I believe they each had a great experience. On the way home, I asked each one what their favorite part was...
~Cooper's favorite part was... probably, the baptistry area.
~Cannon's favorite part was... everything, I thought it was all pretty.
~Sophie's favorite part was... the bride's room and where you get married and look at yourself through the those mirrors forever, oh and that huge chandelier over where you kiss!
{I documented this exactly how they told me}
~My favorite part was... the celestial room. The chandelier in that room was absolutely stunning and I loved the contemporary decor. I loved it all!

Notice in the picture below how they are wiping Emmie's wheels on her wheel chair before she went in.... NO black marks on that beautiful new white carpet!

I hope that each of our kids remembers and strives to always live their lives in such a way that they will be able to.....
go there someday!
