Has anyone heard of this cute book, The Elf on the Shelf? Our little kids have loved it. To sum it up.... this little elf comes in a box with this book and he watches the kids through the Christmas season. Each night he magically flies back to the North Pole and reports to Santa about how the day went with each child in your home. The next morning he finds a new place somewhere in your home to sit and spy on you through out the day. So, it's a game first thing in the morning to see who can find our little elf first. There is a website where you can register the name you pick for your elf and then you can print it and have the certificate that entitles that he belongs to your family. After you name and register him, you can not touch him from that point forward or his magical powers will be gone. So our elf "Buddy" finds places up high, so no one is ever tempted to touch him.
I introduced our elf to the kids a few days ago and Cannon and Sophie have been so excited each morning to see where "Buddy" is hanging out for the day. In fact the first morning we did this, they were up at 6:15 a.m. looking for him. Thank goodness for some older helpers who help remind me that "Buddy" is still hanging out in that same spot!
I think this is going to be a great tradition.

We have found Buddy in our office chillin on the book shelf

on the light fixture and the fire place mantle

Hopefully "Buddy" will be reporting good things about our kids to Santa this year?!
This can be purchased at Barnes and Noble

We have this and thanks for the reminder to get it out already! I know I put it somewhere so I would remember where it was and now I can't find it!
My girls are obsessed with "fred". Elle won't stop jabbering about him! It's hilarious... she keeps blowing him kisses!!!

I'm so glad Nichole told me about this. We read it to our kids, and they are loving it! Such a cute tradition!
