Temple tradition

For as long as I can remember... It has been a tradition of ours to go see the Temple lights at the beginning of December, for family home evening. I can't think of a better way to get into the Christmas spirit, than by walking the Temple grounds and watching Luke: 2 at the beginning of the season. Every time I watch that movie, I cry. Tonight I was remembering back to when I was 9 months pregnant with Taylor {our Christmas baby}. I was at the Temple with Scott and my family, watching this movie and it didn't hit me until that night, how Mary must have felt when she got turned away by the inn keeper. I remembered standing and wrestling with Austin {17 months} with a big, aching belly and imagining what it must have been like to be in labor and riding on a donkey at the same time. Then to think about laboring and giving birth, in a stable with animals all around you? I don't know why it took me, being 9 months pregnant and watching that movie, to really get what went on the night that baby Jesus was born. I love this time of year and I love that everything we do this month, is revolved around our Savior's life and all he has done for us. I am grateful for him and I know that he is the one who has made it possible for us to return back to our Father, someday.

It was a beautiful night.
