A little update..

Just wanted to update what has been going on around here lately:

First off, early last week I came down with a horrible virus in my mouth and down my throat and I seriously thought I was going to die! I woke up Monday morning with a pretty bad sore throat and went on with my day, doped up on motrin of course! Later that evening, it hit me.. I thought a train ran me over. My body ached like no other. Tuesday morning I couldn't get out of bed. So my sweet husband took over! Around 10 that morning, I got some motrin in me and thought it would be no big deal to go to a good friends birthday lunch at Gecko! Big mistake. I couldn't eat. I was officially sick. The sores in my mouth and down my throat were multiplying hour by hour. I left Gecko and went home and didn't get out of bed until Saturday! No joke. I thought for sure it was strep by the looks of the white sores and I needed a dr. I don't ever go to the dr... I don't even have a dr. My last dr. I saw was my OB, when Sophie was born. I know, it sounds irresponsible, but I really don't ever get sick and have managed to cure things the natural way. So Scott called a family, friend dr. and got me in on Wednesday, hoping to get me an antibiotic. We allowed Austin to miss school that day to take his pathetic mother to the dr. I could barely lift my head off of my pillow, let alone drive myself somewhere! It was seriously pathetic. Sure enough the strep test came back negative and I got to play the waiting game and let the virus run it's course. It was awful. I didn't eat for days and was absolutely miserable. I think my family was starting to get a little worried day after day, seeing me lay in the same spot and not move or talk. I honestly can not remember the last time I was that sick. That was a brutal virus that I wouldn't wish upon anybody!
I am so grateful for a loving husband who took care of me and for kids who would come in and just stare at me with a concerned look on their face, wanting to know when I would get better. They were great nurses to me!
And a huge thank you to all of my extended family and friends who came to see me, texted, called and offered help, brought dinner/treats... the list goes on. I have a great ward and awesome visiting teachers and friends! I felt their love.

-Unfortunately that week when I was sick, Cannon got his bear award and moved up to the webelos den. I was so bummed I missed Scott in the tent with Cannon!

-It was also the blue and gold banquet and they had a cake decorating contest. Thankfully, Taylor took over for me and made these cupcakes for Cannon to take. Can you tell they are a bear claw? We were suppose to decorate with the jungle theme.
Close enough!?
-How about the cutest baby on earth? He is definitely loved by his big sisters.

-I am in love with him! His blessing was Sunday and I was so happy to be well enough to attend and be there for his special day! It was a special day for a special little boy. Jason gave him a beautiful blessing and the testimony meeting was awesome!
Great Day. Great food!

-Taylor has her last basketball game this Friday. She loves to cheer and says she is going to miss it. Her coach decided to allow the girls to wear their shirts and sweat jackets to school on game day, since it has been so cold.

-On Tuesday, Tay decided at her hair appt. to go DARK! She has been saying that she wanted her hair a little darker, but I had no idea this is what she was talking about. We are all loving it and think she looks so pretty!

-We celebrated Cannon's 10th birthday on Monday.. (pictures to come)
-The three older kids went on a ward youth conference, up to the snow last weekend and had a great time.
-Cooper went on his deacons quorum camp out, near Flagstaff last weekend and I was so worried about him freezing his tail off, but he said he had all the right stuff and stayed warm! PHEW!
-Cannon is loving his new iTouch he got for his birthday and loves to constantly facetime me.. he is a crack up!
-Sophie keeps me on my toes. She has been really into writing love notes lately. It is definitely one of her love languages. She is begging me to set her up her own blog.... She loves to get on the computer and has been making everyone Valentine cards and then emails them to us. She is growing up so fast!
-Austin has been studying with a tutor for the ACT, that he will be taking this weekend. He has also taken on a new hobby... Organ lessons! My Grandma's organ was delivered to our home last week and we had it set up in Austin's room so that he could practice and decide if this is something he is going to really like. Luckily his piano teacher can teach him the organ too! He seems to be really liking it. It puts a smile on my face everytime I pull into my garage and hear him in his room practicing! I can instantly see my Grandma sitting and playing when I hear him. I love it.
Life is GOOD.
