"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to"

When Austin graduated from elementary school to jr. high we let him have an end of the year swim party! So of course Taylor has been waiting & waiting & waiting for her turn to celebrate. Austin since then, has had an end of the year party every year since his 6th grade celebration & of course we are repeating the same tradition this year for him! Geez, am I a sucker or WHAT? So, we decided to do back to back party's...  Tay's on Friday night & Austin's on Saturday night. Up until about an hour & 1/2 before Taylor's party was suppose to begin, I thought I was going to be off the hook (due to weather).... well, NO such Luck!! Taylor came to me @ 4:30 & said " it looks like it is clearing up, so we are still going to have the party right"? Ummmmmm... really, are you sure honey? It is going to be really cold & I don't think people are going to want to swim (really I was TOTALLY unprepared & hadn't bought any food or drinks or looked @ the pool to see if it is clean or I hadn't cleaned off the patio, which why does this matter? It is going to be sticky & dirty within 20 minutes of kids being here! Needless to say... we had a party here & we threw it together in about an hour! Scott hurried home & turned on the heater to the spa, I went to the store to get chips & drinks & then Scott was off to little caesars to buy 10 pizza's,  Austin put some tunes together & made a mix for his sister & there you go we had a PARTY!
and let me tell you, there was lots of DRAMA
DRAMA

and more DRAMA!
They really are all such great kids!
Boys are just easier to raise!

I don't want to leave this part out - When I realized this party was really happening, I hurried & called Austin in the basement & asked him to please put together a good mix of music for Taylor's party, I had her helping me w/ some other odds & ends up-stairs. He responds "sure mom, what does she want"? I respond " you know what's good, just make sure they are all appropriate songs" (keep in mind, he has a few friends here while this is going on) I am thinking, oh how nice he is for being so willing to help out his sister. Low & behold about 5 songs into the c.d. we hear a Christmas song & then a few songs later we hear the song from the Godfather & then another Christmas song & then a lullaby! (poor tay) How do you think she liked that? Oh, you are right... we had a very unhappy little girl & lots of drama! I tried to tell her to just laugh it off & don't let it ruin your night! When I went down stairs, Austin & his friends thought they were pretty funny! He responds with, "it was probably just an accident"! Well, I have to say it is going to be really funny when somebody "accidentally" slides that c.d. into the c.d. player during his party tomorrow night, SHHH!! I can't wait to see how funny it is for him.

No Tracey you are not making us all excited to have teenagers! YOu guys have been so busy. YOu are such great parents and put so much time into your kids! HOpe the party tonight is fun! Anyway... my blog, Emily changed the background on Thursday because I was sick of looking at my old one. Well when I came home that night I couldn't read my own blog! I have not been able to read Emily's for a while, so there must be something with our computers that doesn't match up. I only wish I was computer savvy enough to make it cute myself! By the way I saw your family pictures on Shawni's blog and they are darling! And any time you want to walk my house with me and give any ideas I would love it! Ask Tiff I am such an idiot when it comes to that stuff!

That is so funny! I am terrified of my kids turning into teens! It seems like there is drama now - I'm not sure what I'll do when they are older. The party looked fun!
